My specialized degree in digital communications provides hard skills in user experience, design, and significant communication and writing skills for different audiences
When I began at the University of Waterloo, my focus was on creating audio-visual work. I grew up making music, and shooting photos and videos with my friends. For a while, it seemed like a transition to doing that sort of work professionally would be a perfect fit. I came to realize these weren’t the mediums for me to tell stories through professionally. As I studied UX design methodologies, branding, communications, and technical writing, my focus shifted into telling stories through those mediums instead.
I began my career at an interdisciplinary arts co-operative called Studio 145 Co-operative (COOP145). When I began working there, it was as a grant writer. After finishing my internship, managed a service development team, and worked with personal design clients through the co-op, particularly Ocean and Moonlight.
My work with these clients eventually lead to working at Canurta where I served as a marketing and brand coordinator, creating blog posts, conducting competitor analysis, and writing the company’s white paper for their DeSci blockchain project The Healing Project.
